Prenatal Rav Yoga
Since 2003, Heather has been working with pregnant women in weekly yoga sessions that meet them exactly where they at in their pregnancy. Rav Yoga sustains pregnancy and prepares a woman for labor, by bringing attentiveness and compassion to the ever-changing body and mysterious workings of the soul. Breath work helps to calm and regulate temperature; postures develop strength and create space for breathing and stretching.
Rabbi Heather teaches expectant parents about traditional and innovative ceremonies to welcome their child into the covenant.
Brit Bat – for girls!
Jewish girls are welcomed into the covenant of Israel with a Brit Bat ceremony. Entering our daughters into this Brit is a mitzvah (a ritual responsibility), so we encourage families to begin planning shortly after birth. Parents give honored family and friends special roles in the ceremony, in which Rabbi Heather will bestow the baby’s Hebrew name. Rabbi Heather can assist you in selecting the name, and in all aspects of planning this beautiful ceremony.
Brit Milah – for boys!
The Brit Milah ceremony welcomes baby boys into the covenant. The Torah mandates the ritual circumcision on the 8th day, and a qualified mohel is called upon to fulfill this mitzvah for the new parents. Rabbi Altman will joyfully officiate at the ceremony, offer special healing prayers for baby and mother, and create the perfect environment your family simcha.
Certificates
Heather creates custom art certificates that are gorgeous baby gifts. The art certificates are presented at the ceremony in place of a standard certificate. Take a look at the unique designs!
