Description: Learn in the Beit Midrash of your neshama. Rabbi Heather Altman, JTS 2000, teaches yoga in a uniquely rabbinic way. You’ll learn a holistic, embodied Judaism through the physical practice of Rav Yoga. She joins together the honored wisdom of both traditions for a powerful experience that will challenge you on all levels. Rav Yoga seeks the wisdom of the body and attention to breath, emotion and thought, while the often overused active intellect retreats. The result is a deeper sense of knowing, strength and flexibility, courage, balance, hope and connection to your truth.
In this Introduction to Rav Yoga, you will set a kavanah on the mat, learn to use your breath to connect to God, and explore the Torah of your soul. This session is for all levels of yoga experience (none to advanced), and people with injuries are illness are invited to participate with modifications.
