Description: Tefilla Yoga is an embodied prayer service - on the mat, from the inside out, moving through traditional prayers with yoga postures and sequences that evoke the kavanah (inner intention). Rabbi Heather Altman leads you through an experience of unifying body and breath, mind and soul. Building on the Postures of Prayer within a synagogue service, this session will allow you to translate the words in the siddur through your own body and breath. Fusing the wisdom of yoga with the wisdom of Judaism, the sequence of the siddur will be followed with key words and themes. Tefilla Yoga can be adapted for adults, children and families and for expressions of the heart at any time of the day or year. Today, we will incorporate Rosh Hodesh Adar (the New Month of Adar) in the Shacharit (morning) service. This session is appropriate for all levels of yoga experience and for most physical conditions
